On February 2nd, 2024, the Toronto Community & Cultural Centre hosted our annual Chinese New Year Gala at the Casa Deluz Banquet Hall. Over 400 community members came together to enjoy a night of celebration featuring musical performances, speeches from community leaders and elected officials, and the presentation of awards recognizing exemplary community members.
The Toronto Community & Culture Centre was also celebrating it's 30th anniversary. TCCC Chair Katy Liu kicked off the festivities with a wonderful set of opening remarks detailing all of the services TCCC has provided for the past 30 years. Following the opening remarks, elected officials Paul Chiang, Majid Jowhari, Shaun Chen, Jean Yip, Chris Glover, Vincent Ke, Aris Babikian, Shelley Carroll, Godwin Chan, Alan Ho, Amanda Yeung, and Isa Lee also gave speeches. The strength and unity of the Chinese Canadian community was a prevailing theme.
Members of the community were recognized for their outstanding achievements in arts, business, and leadership.
A delicious dinner was served as guests enjoyed musical entertainment provided by the Orient Dance Company, Canada Children's Broadcasting Arts Group, and other talented performers. Food, drinks, laughter, and conversation were shared among friends and family as the night went on.
We want to express our gratitude to all of our guests for joining us at the New Year Gala, as well as to the other artist groups for their fantastic shows. We would also like to thank our sponsors for their support in ensuring that we can continue to provide services for those in need, and our volunteers, who are the backbone of our community.
