Research Study on Diversity and Health - for recent immigrants and people with diverse racial backgrounds

Nova Scotia Health is conducting a research study examining how genes and life experiences affect the health of people with multiple sclerosis, and are particularly interested in the perspectives of recent immigrants to Canada and people from diverse racial backgrounds. If you have immigrated to Canada within the last 10 years or identify as a member of a racialized group, you may be eligible to participate in this research study!

While the study itself is concerning people with multiple sclerosis, it includes a control group, so it is possible to participate whether or not you have multiple sclerosis. The study is 3 years long and involves mailing in a saliva sample and participating in an annual phone interview, for a total of 4 interviews that take 60-90 minutes each.  All study activities can be done from home, so no travel is required. Participants will be compensated with a $40 Amazon electronic card after each interview.
